This trunk dated 1832 is inscribed with the name, Elssa Thommesdatter R. (3 May 1792-Apr 1870) who was Elsa (Fredrickson) ROE's paternal grandmother. It is not certain what the "R" stands for, though perhaps it is "Rikheim," a farm name of her husband, Fredrik Olsen. Elssa, who is my 4x great grandmother, originally was from the Vetti farm.
